We recommend applying sealer 60-90 days after installation to allow the pavers to fully cure, and reapplying every 3-5 years. Sealers also help stabilize polymeric sand and reduce efflorescence, the white mineral deposits that sometimes appear on new concrete pavers.
We recommend using calcium magnesium acetate (CMA) or sand instead of rock salt on paver surfaces. Rock salt (sodium chloride) can damage paver surfaces and accelerate efflorescence, especially during the first winter after installation. Techo-Bloc pavers are rated for de-icing agents, but using gentler alternatives extends the life of both the pavers and the polymeric sand in the joints.
